The gallery was created with the aim of showing all glasgow buses which survive, are in preservation, or have been in preservation. if anyone would like to donate photos for use on the website i would be happy to recieve them.

AH87. a Volvo Citybus new in January 1990, currently at the GVVT. To be broken for parts to restore simmilar AH101.
24th Feb 2008AH101 - G545 RDS - Volvo Citybus B10M-50
AH101, a Volvo Citybus new in February 1990, and is both the last Volvo Citybus new to Strathclyde's Buses and the last bus delivered new to Strathclyde's Buses before it's privatisation. Now Preserved at the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust.

Having entered preservation a non runner, with serious engine damage and no gearbox, AH101 successfully ran for the first time in preservation on the Sunday 6th July 2008.

8th May 2007AV1 - GGG 300N - Volvo Ailsa Mk.1
New into service in March 1975, AV1 was displayed at the scottish motor show the previous year. It is now unique in that it was one of three Volvo Ailsas delivered with peak roof panoramic bodywork, a feature glasgow never repeated again. It is the only one of the three to survive.

Since the photo was taken AV1 has been repainted into GGPTE livery.

Volvo Ailsa AV8, one of glasgow's early ailsas with Panoramic windows, delivered new to Greater Glasgow PTE in December 1975.

1949 albion venturer CX37 at Glasgow Museum of Transport, the only Glasgow Corporation Albion Venturer to survive.
11th Feb 2007C911 - SSN 248S - Volvo Ailsa Mk.1
C911, a tayside ailsa new in November 1977, which was hired in after the larkfield fire in 1992, and treated with full orange ends. It has now changed ownership and is to be returned to having tayside sides and an orange front and rear.

Daimler CVD6 D217 delivered new in March 1958. Glasgow's only 30 foot Daimler CVD6.

L269, a Leyland PD2 new in June 1959. It operated until 1970 when, like several others of the same batch, it was cut down to a Tow Vehicle, a form which enabled it to see further use with GCT and GGPTE.

L446, a front entrance Leyland PD3 delivered new to Glasgow Corporation in October 1961. L446 has now been repainted into the GCT livery it carried from new.

Atlantean LA1, one of the first production atlanteans delivered in December 1958 to Glasgow Corporation Transport, at the Glasgow Museum of Transport.
31st Dec 2006LA 320 - GYS 896D - Leyland Atlantean PDR1/1
LA320, delivered new in September 1966 to Glasgow Corporation. Passed to GGPTE, and eventually ended up as an open topper with Guide Friday before preservation and restoration to Glasgow Corporation Colours.
26th Feb 2007LA 352 - KUS 607E - Leyland Atlantean PDR1/1
Glasgow Atlantean LA 352 which is kept at the North West Museum of Road Transport.

This vehicle was new to Glasgow Corporation in May 1967. It was with Edwards Travel of Llantwit Fardre until 1998 until purchased for preservation, whilst carrying the registration MUS 281F, another Glasgow Atlantean, which was believed to have been swapped from her days with Beestons of Hadleigh. Thanks are due to Paul Hoskins, the vehicle's owner, who got in touch with me and supplied the photo.

3rd May 2007LA 517 - XGA 15J - Leyland Atlantean PDR1A/1
A recent entry into preservation, LA 517 is the missing link between the PDR and AN68 atlanteans. New to Glasgow Corporation in September 1970, it later passed to Greater Glasgow PTE upon its formation before ending up in Wales.
8th May 2007LA 688 - HGD 894L - Leyland Atlantean AN68/1R
Glasgow Atlantean LA688. New to Glasgow Corporation in May 1973 this atlantean is one of the last to feature an open engine bustle. It was up for sale but no buyer materialised so it was scrapped from preservation.

31st Dec 2006LA 697 - HGD 903L - Leyland Atlantean AN68/1R DD
LA 697, delivered new to Greater Glasgow PTE in June 1973.

LA 697 was the first Atlantean delivered new in GGPTE livery. It later went on to become a driver trainer based from knightswood depot until replaced by the RDS-W atlantean driver trainers.

GGPTE LA 826 which was converted by strathclyde regional council to Non-PSV use. This is one of two so treated, the other being LA 832. This has now been scrapped.

Panoramic Atlantean LA 907, restored as delivered in May 1975 to Greater Glasgow PTE. This bus was one of a number Atlanteans sold to Don's of Dunmow, one of which, LA 927 is also in preservation.

LA 917 delivered in May 1975 as a standard service bus to Greater Glasgow PTE. Later converted to a playbus by Strathclyde PTE.
7th May 2007LA 927 - JUS 774N - Leyland Atlantean AN68/1R
LA 927 delivered new to Greater Glasgow PTE in June 1975. It was later repainted into PTE2 livery by Trans-Clyde. sold in 1983, this being the time structural problems were being discovered with the Panoramic body framework.

Sold to Don's of Dunmow in Essex. it is Under restoration to PTE2 livery.

LA1204, a Leyland Atlantean new in October 1977 to Greater Glasgow PTE. Sold and converted to Non-PSV form by Strathclyde's Buses.

LA 1221, a panoramic leyland atlantean which came from first greater glasgow into preservation. It later went for scrap.

LA 1285 which entered service in May 1979. It is also from the first batch of high driving position leyland atlanteans that glasgow recieved.

LA 1285 was in preservation after service with first greater glasgow. the vehicle was eventually scrapped.

LA 1324, New in December 1979. A vehicle rebuilt by Strathclyde PTE with additional framework and short bay windows on the lower deck in an effort to combat structural problems in the panoramic body design. Was transferred by First Greater Glasgow eventually ending up with First United Welsh Coaches in Wales along with a number of other Ex- Glasgow Atlanteans.
8th May 2007LA1396 - RDS 585W - Leyland Atlantean AN68A/1R
LA 1396, delivered new to Greater Glasgow PTE in 1980. It was selected to become a driver trainer by first and recieved a all red livery with a narrow yellow band and gained the fleet number T1. It operated from knightswood depot until 2001 when it was purchased from preservation along with the rest of the driver training atlanteans. It has now been scrapped.
31st Dec 2006LA1399 - RDS 588W - Leyland Atlantean AN68A/1R
LA 1399, a First Glasgow driver trainer. Delivered in October 1980 as a standard service bus, it was later converted by First Glasgow as a Driver Trainer. It and the rest of the Atlantean Driver Trainers were replaced in 2001 by Ex-Central Leyland Tigers.
8th May 2007LA1400 - RDS 589W - Leyland Atlantean AN68A/1R
Another 1980 Leyland Atlantean which became part of the First Glasgow driver training fleet from 1998-2001. Like LA 1396 it was purchased after withdrawl for preservation but was scrapped.

Atlantean LA 1408, delivered in October 1980. It later went on to become one of the last Glasgow Atlanteans in Service. Now at The Transport Preservation Trust, Beith.

LA 1416, A Leyland Atlantean delivered new in November 1980. A former First Glasgow driver trainer, under restoration to Strathclyde Transport livery.
8th May 2007LA1417 - RDS 606W - Leyland Atlantean AN68A/1R
LA 1417, the last of the seven First Glasgow driver training Atlanteans, which has the same history as the other atlanteans. New in 1980, it was used in service until 1998 when it was converted for use in the driver training fleet. It lasted until 2001 when it was purchased for preservation. It was later scrapped.
31st Dec 2006LA1440 - UGB 193W - Leyland Atlantean AN68A/1R (Ex- Wheelchair Access)
Leyland Atlantean LA 1440 delivered new to Trans-Clyde PTE in May 1981. one of four atlanteans converted by strathclyde pte to wheelchair access vehicles. Rebuilt to it's current standard layout afterwards. Also later ran into a low bridge, resulting in a rebuild with a flush destination screen.
11th Feb 2007LA1442 - CUS 297X - Leyland Atlantean AN68A/1R (Ex- Wheelchair Access)

LA 1448 glasgow's second last atlantean, after the last, LA 1449, was scrapped. Delivered in October 1981 in Trans-Clyde livery, it operated on the last day of Glasgow Atlantean service on the 6th June 1998.
15th Oct 2007LN 1 - GGE 156T - Leyland National 10351A/1R
Leyland National LN 1, new in Febuary 1979. Glasgow ordered 20 leyland nationals, of which LN1 is the only complete surviving bus. LN18 however still exists and is used on the set of STV's river city.

Ex- Strathclyde's Buses LO 48, New in August 1991. This is one of only two All-Leyland Olympians to operate in Glasgow. Now believed to have been scrapped.

10th Jun 2009LO 101 - L201 UNS - Leyland Olympian ON2R50C13V3
LO101 is believed to be the last Leyland built Olympian chassis, at least to the Scottish market. New In October 1993, it was sent to Campbell's of Alexandria for storage along with the rest of th batch still in Glasgow. After negotiations with First, it was moved to the GVVT, still only being semi preserved, until its value has depreciated enough for it to be sold into preservation.

I have only been able to photograph it over the pits so far, better photos will be added once i have the chance.
31st Dec 2006M89 - E186 BNS - MCW Metrorider
M89 a wide long wheelbase Metrorider delivered to Strathclyde's Buses in June 1988. Later Passed to GCT Comlaw as GM47, then to Kelvin Central/ First Kelvin. Later passed to Strathtay.
24th Sep 2007MB 48 - G386 OGD - MCW Metrobus DR102/72
MCW Metrobus MB 48, new to Strathclyde PTE in August 1989. One of only two glasgow metrobuses known to survive.
